{"id":10931,"date":"2025-10-31T15:57:00","date_gmt":"2025-10-31T14:57:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sartori-ambiente.com\/?post_type=referenze&#038;p=10931"},"modified":"2025-10-31T16:04:56","modified_gmt":"2025-10-31T15:04:56","slug":"management-of-nappies-and-sanitary-textiles-in-valle-sabbia","status":"publish","type":"referenze","link":"https:\/\/sartori-ambiente.com\/en\/references\/management-of-nappies-and-sanitary-textiles-in-valle-sabbia\/","title":{"rendered":"Management of nappies and sanitary textiles in Valle Sabbia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"229\"><strong data-start=\"0\" data-end=\"21\">Initial Situation<\/strong><br data-start=\"21\" data-end=\"24\" \/>The 2017 separate collection data, published by the Provincial Waste Observatory before the sector was transferred to the Mountain Community\u2019s company \u2013 SAE \u2013 indicated a separate collection rate of 50%.<\/p>\n<p><strong data-start=\"231\" data-end=\"245\">Objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Provide a dedicated service<\/strong> for users following the introduction of door-to-door collection for residual dry waste.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Collect data<\/strong> on the actual production of nappies and sanitary textiles.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"441\" data-end=\"753\"><strong data-start=\"441\" data-end=\"454\">Solutions<\/strong><br data-start=\"454\" data-end=\"457\" \/>In mid-2018, Altares installed 34 controlled-access <strong>ArcoPOINT<\/strong> drop-off stations dedicated exclusively to the collection of sanitary textile waste, serving an area of over <strong>40,000 inhabitants<\/strong> across 12 municipalities.<br data-start=\"672\" data-end=\"675\" \/>The users who registered for this additional service in 2021 numbered 3,195.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"755\" data-end=\"947\">Sanitary textile waste (nappies and incontinence pads) can be disposed of at specific collection stations located throughout each municipality and equipped with a user identification system.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"949\" data-end=\"979\">The service is reserved for:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"983\" data-end=\"1110\">Parents with children up to 3 years old. In this case, the parents\u2019 CRS card is automatically activated at the child\u2019s birth.<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"983\" data-end=\"1110\">People with health issues requiring the service. In this case, citizens must submit a request to the Municipality along with a document certifying the need.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1273\" data-end=\"1394\">Citizens can consult the location of ArcoPOINT stations and other special waste containers directly on the SAE website.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1396\" data-end=\"1618\">Emptying of the controlled-access drop-off stations is carried out using standard vehicles dedicated to the door-to-door service (5 m\u00b3 and 7 m\u00b3 compactors) during the scheduled weekly round for residual waste collection.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1620\" data-end=\"1956\">In 2019, <strong>Sartori Ambiente<\/strong>, in collaboration with <strong>SAE Valle Sabbia<\/strong>, conducted a first analysis of the data collected both from field equipment and from detection systems installed on collection vehicles.<br data-start=\"1822\" data-end=\"1825\" \/>This analysis aimed to measure the system\u2019s performance against the project\u2019s expected results and identify any potential issues.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1958\" data-end=\"2373\"><strong data-start=\"1958\" data-end=\"1969\">Results<\/strong><br data-start=\"1969\" data-end=\"1972\" \/>The analysis of the different usage rates of the ArcoPOINT systems installed across the 12 observed municipalities showed excellent service participation: on average, over 50% of registered users made regular use of the service, with peaks exceeding 80%, such as in the municipality of Anfo.<br data-start=\"2263\" data-end=\"2266\" \/>The period under analysis covered the first 12 months of use, which is already statistically significant.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2375\" data-end=\"2826\">Regarding active users \u2014 those who made at least one drop-off since the systems were activated \u2014 <strong>the average usage was 1.64 drop-offs per week<\/strong>.<br data-start=\"2518\" data-end=\"2521\" \/>It should be noted that all the municipalities analysed already had a weekly door-to-door collection system for residual waste.<br data-start=\"2648\" data-end=\"2651\" \/>It is reasonable to assume that registered users also partially used that service to dispose of sanitary textiles, bringing the total number of \u201cdrop-offs\u201d to 2.64 per week.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2828\" data-end=\"3070\">An analysis was also carried out to observe how drop-offs were distributed throughout the day.<br data-start=\"2922\" data-end=\"2925\" \/>The results showed that, although most occurred in the morning and early afternoon, drop-offs were generally distributed across the entire day.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"3072\" data-end=\"3229\">The controlled-access sanitary textile collection points were distributed based on the number of residents and the territorial layout of each municipality.<br \/>\nIn the most populous municipality, Gavardo, each station serves an area of approximately 2,000 residents, corresponding to 162 users registered for the service.<br \/>\nAnalyses carried out in 2021 on the same sample of municipalities confirmed the initial participation rates, which remain between 50% and 80%.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"featured_media":1454,"parent":0,"template":"","class_list":["post-10931","referenze","type-referenze","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":[],"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.3 - https:\/\/yoast.com\/product\/yoast-seo-wordpress\/ -->\n<title>Management of nappies and sanitary textiles in Valle Sabbia | Sartori Ambiente<\/title>\n<meta name=\"robots\" content=\"index, follow, max-snippet:-1, max-image-preview:large, max-video-preview:-1\" \/>\n<link rel=\"canonical\" href=\"https:\/\/sartori-ambiente.com\/en\/references\/management-of-nappies-and-sanitary-textiles-in-valle-sabbia\/\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:locale\" content=\"en_US\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:type\" content=\"article\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:title\" content=\"Management of nappies and sanitary textiles in Valle Sabbia | Sartori Ambiente\" \/>\n<meta property=\"og:description\" content=\"Initial SituationThe 2017 separate collection data, published by the Provincial Waste Observatory before the sector was transferred to the Mountain Community\u2019s company \u2013 SAE \u2013 indicated a separate collection rate of 50%.
