{"id":8713,"date":"2024-07-10T11:28:32","date_gmt":"2024-07-10T09:28:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/sartori-ambiente.com\/?post_type=referenze&#038;p=8713"},"modified":"2024-07-10T11:28:32","modified_gmt":"2024-07-10T09:28:32","slug":"design-built-around-citizens","status":"publish","type":"referenze","link":"https:\/\/sartori-ambiente.com\/en\/references\/design-built-around-citizens\/","title":{"rendered":"Design built around citizens"},"content":{"rendered":"<h3>Initial situation<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li>By 2022, the entire territory, including the old town, was served by the home collection system<\/li>\n<li>The old town has very limited space to dispose containers that must be then managed by waste operators<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Objectives<\/h3>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Finding an alternative <\/strong>to organic waste home collection in the old town<\/li>\n<li><strong>Citizen\u2019s involvement and awareness raising\u00a0<\/strong>in separate waste collection<\/li>\n<li><strong>Preserve the achieved results<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Solutions<\/h3>\n<p>For 95% of the population of Cairo Montenotte Municipality, the choice has fallen on the<strong> door-to-door collection system<\/strong>. The remaining 5% (700 users) uses a\u00a0<strong>mixed system<\/strong>: home collection for paper and cardboard, plastic packaging, glass, cans and residual waste, and street collection with controlled delivery for organic waste.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Sartori Ambiente<\/strong>\u00a0has supplied:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>6 ArcoPOINT stations<\/strong>\u00a0for organic waste collection. The stations are equipped with a user recognition system that works with national health cards<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Results<\/h3>\n<p>The three objectives set by the project were very clear, and all three have been achieved.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Separate collection has maintained the quality and quantity standards<\/strong> of the Municipality of Cairo Montenotte, and the old town was provided with a <strong>more appropriate management<\/strong> in this small but crucial area.<\/p>\n<p>The ArcoPOINT chosen by the Administration provides for a manual opening:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Step 1, card recognition<\/li>\n<li>Step 2, <u>raise the lever <\/u>to open the hatch<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Administration and Technical Offices continued to <strong>listen and interact with the population<\/strong>, and a few weeks after installation some users reported difficulties in accessing ArcoPOINT containers, due to the lever.<\/p>\n<p>Sartori Ambiente has decided to work on the design of ArcoPOINT and to reverse the lever movement.<\/p>\n<p>This change was implemented in the Municipality of Cairo Montenotte, and will now be an integral part of this
