EU Directive 2018\/851, implemented in Italy through Legislative Decree 116\/2020, made separate collection of organic waste mandatory for all municipalities, while the 2024 ISPRA Urban Waste Report highlights that this fraction accounts for around 40% of total municipal waste.<br data-start=\"482\" data-end=\"485\" \/>A significant share that directly affects operating costs, recycling quality and the achievement of European targets.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"604\" data-end=\"1057\">In this context, tools capable of reducing moisture and improving waste quality become essential for both operators and citizens. This is where the aerated system \u2013 developed 22 years ago \u2013 proves to be an even more decisive ally today.<br data-start=\"840\" data-end=\"843\" \/>When Sartori Ambiente developed the first domestic aerated system in 2003, the focus was mainly on improving hygiene and reducing unpleasant odours in kitchens. For this reason, a system was designed consisting of:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"1061\" data-end=\"1086\">aerated <a class=\"\" href=\"https:\/\/sartori-ambiente.com\/en\/products\/organic-waste-containers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Stelo<\/strong> <\/a>container<\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1061\" data-end=\"1086\">compostable bioplastic <strong>bag<\/strong> compliant with UNI EN 13432:2002.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1151\" data-end=\"1212\">Trials and tests carried out demonstrated very clear results:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li data-start=\"1216\" data-end=\"1254\"><strong>weight reduction between 12% and 22%<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1216\" data-end=\"1254\"><strong>odours and mould limited after one week<\/strong><\/li>\n<li data-start=\"1216\" data-end=\"1254\"><strong>perfectly intact bag<\/strong>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p data-start=\"1324\" data-end=\"1439\">Today we know that these effects improve not only everyday life, but also the entire organic waste treatment chain.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1441\" data-end=\"1693\"><strong data-start=\"1441\" data-end=\"1484\">What Makes an Aerated System Effective?<\/strong><br data-start=\"1484\" data-end=\"1487\" \/>The principle is simple: the right air, at the right time.<br data-start=\"1545\" data-end=\"1548\" \/>The Stelo container is made of Plastica Seconda Vita\u2013certified recycled polypropylene and features a fully perforated structure.
