In Sartori Ambiente’s journey of growth, 2007 stands out as a particularly significant year. Alongside the decision to adopt certified recycled plastic, another decisive step took shape: the development of the first reading systems dedicated to waste collection.
From the very beginning, these tools were not conceived as adaptations of technologies designed for other sectors, such as logistics or industrial warehousing. Instead, they were developed specifically for the urban waste management market. This choice responded to very practical operational needs: vehicles in motion, vibrations, dirt, use with gloves, night shifts, limited working time and repetitive procedures.
Sartori Ambiente’s first controllers were therefore designed to simplify operators’ work, make reading activities more immediate, reduce errors and integrate naturally with collection vehicles and operational flows. The aim was not simply to “read a code”, but to help transform the service into a measurable, traceable and manageable process.
Those first systems marked the beginning of a path of continuous development: increasingly integrated controllers, portable and vehicle-mounted solutions, geolocation, data transmission and direct connection with management software. An evolution that has supported the growth of pay-as-you-throw schemes and the increasing demand for transparency, control and data reliability.
For this reason, 2007 represents a key moment in the company’s history: the digitalisation of waste collection was not seen as a simple technological adaptation, but as a dedicated design approach for public services. An approach that continues to guide the development of Sartori Ambiente’s solutions today.
Happy Anniversary, Sartori Ambiente!
