Last spring some schools have enjoyed composting directly in their green spaces.
The workshop “School of compost” – created by Gestione Ambiente for local schools – ended with the inauguration of Piera, a composter at the Primary School “Martiri della Benedicta” in Serravalle Scrivia.
This workshop helped teachers to explain the whole process of decomposition of organic waste. The students set up the composter, observed the organisms and began to use the composter for leftovers.
Once the compost will be ready the students will used it to grow flowers and vegetables in the school garden.
